hunger
sat next you in that room
all I wanted one only thing
in that moment
was to trace
the perfect line of your jaw
with just one finger tip
or my lips
maybe kiss the impossibly tender skin
where your rising neck blossoms into your scalp
run fingers gently through your hair
this I told you as we walked after
not expecting, but needing honesty
if I dared dream your hands running
over my shoulders and down
slowly in over blades either side
spine to rest at base at core
one hand there then one around
to belly to balance my centre
warmed between your palms
if I dared dream but that
that would be enough
in that moment
but this I've never said
